Next, what can you do with your business card to generate more business?
Exposure equals Sales. Face Time, where you physically hand out your business card, combined with the business card equals Memorability - as long as you do it correctly.
..... Always ask for their business card in return.
..... Make sure your business cards are clean and professional looking.
..... Don't be obviously pushy - simply give out your card, ask for one in return,
..... and if your card is powerful, it may inspire that conversation opening.
.......... Look at what your projected income for the year is, divide it by 1000 and that is what one single business card is worth to you. Every box of 1000 business cards represents that income, so how long do you wait to use up that box so you can get to the next box which represents the next level of income generation?
Include your business card with all of your mailings, including bills you pay. Include them with your invoices, and your promotional materials. If you ship products, include a card with every package. Include business cards with all of your thank you notes and letters. Even send them to friends and acquaintances. You never know who they might know who might need your products or services.
Determine Hand out Locations; Ask other business owners if you can display your cards in their businesses, be sure to use a nice business card holder. Keep these handy in your car as you never know when the opportunity will arise.
Hand them out at Chamber of Commerce Meetings, and any other meetings you attend. Network with them!
Put them up on any and all Community Bulletin Boards. If they are Oustanding they will stick out in the crowd and inspire contact.
Respond to all junk mail addresses with your business card. Politely of course, with the idea of getting their business, not to yell at them about their junk mail.
Leave your business card with your tip at restaurants and at the checkout.
Make sure everyone in your business has a business card. Even the secretary or receptionist. You never know who they might hand a card to, and it makes them feel important and a contributing member of your business. They may be related to, or know that one person whose business you would like to obtain. Don't leave anyone out of creating revenue for your business.
Instead of using other meeting's nametags, have a set of cards printed up to be used as your, and your company's 'name tags'. Have your card Name Tag advertise your business right up front and face to face.
Attach your card to every gift you give out.
If you don't care for your company's business card, create a personal card to present with your company's card.
Drop them into business card fishbowls for free drawings and such. (As you do, notice which ones stand out.)
Give them to Teachers, Doctors, Coaches, and all others who interact with your children. Tuck one inside a back pack or coat lining / pocket so if needed, you can always be reached, and perhaps these contacts need your services or know of someone who does, also.
Put a magnet on the back so people will put them on their refrigerators or filing cabinets or somewhere not out of sight, but useful.
When you provide a service for a customer, leave them 3 or 4 cards so they will pass them on to others. Offer a free (something) if they refer a certain amount of people to your business. Have this incentive printed on the back of your cards so that those people in turn will continue to refer people to you.
Walk door to door within the business community, and simply drop off a card and say hello. Ask for one of their cards in return.
If you are in the book business, make them look like bookmarks so they get used and are always face to face with customers.
If you own a restaurant, include a tip chart on the back, or a take out menu or pizza toppings list.
Include punch diamonds/circles so customers can receive a discount for so many times they visit you. This works for hair and nail salons, tanning businesses, massage therapy businesses and so on.
